19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term coach his previous coach.

Now training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his maiden championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since March of the previous year.

Victory also means Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to question if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.

But the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serve.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

He defended four initial opportunities in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
